This 40" shoot through style softbox has a white interior and translucent, white front diffusion panel which is permanently attached. It directs and softens light. Because it uses an umbrella shaft for mounting you can slide it closer and further from your light to focus or broaden the light beam somewhat. It is an incredibly convenient light modifier that is perfect for location work where time is money due to its incredibly fast deployment.
